A B Carter, Principal

A B Carter has an AB in mathematics from Rutgers University and a Masters in Philosophy from the University of Michigan where he also pursued studies in linguistics, mathematical logic, and biology. In 1989 he joined FAME information services and in 1993 moved to New York to become the first Technical Sales consultant for the New York office. During the next ten years he assumed a variety of positions. When he left the company in 2003 he was serving as FAME's Chief Technical officer where he worked closely with the sales to introduce new products and guide development.

A B possesses extensive experience with the full range of FAME's products and services. He was the technical editor for the Tips and Techniques Newsletter and for many years the lead trainer. In the latter capacity he redesigned and expanded the core curriuculum, adding courses for database design and TimeIQ, FAME's java library for time series analysis.

A B has done consulting or training for many of the major US investment banks and mutual funds as well as firms in both Europe and East Asia. He has also undertaken consulting assignments for national central banks and statistical agencies such as the US Federal Reserve Board, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and the Australian Bureau of Statistics among others. In 1997 he was involved in the design of the data acquisition and validation system for the Bank for International Settlements and from 1998 to 1999 he designed and implemented the framework to handle statistical production for the European Central Bank.
